A tale of success
Pasticceria Massera was founded in 1920 in Bornasco – Sala, a small village in the green hills of Serra, in the Biella province. Our story began when the progenitor Luigi Massera opened a little shop which had a wooden oven attached to it, where he produced bread for his own town and the surrounding areas. Times were hard in those days: poverty and suffering fell on the population, but in spite of this the tradition of local cooking was preserved and passed downluigi massera with parents

from generation to generation. Once a year in occasion of the village fair, Mr. Massera would produced "Torcetto", a biscuit shaped like a doughnut in his oven. After the war, Gino, one of his sons, transformed the old oven into a small laboratory and, with a few changes to the old recipe, started selling "Torcetto" throughout the Biella region on an artisanal production basis, using only natural ingredients: flour, butter and sugar.gino massera working in the oven
